Poultry Sector has been serving the nation since 1962 and providing affordable poultry products to the masses to fulfill the requirements of animal protein. Poultry at present contributes 40% of the total meat consumption and generates employment and income for about fifteen hundred thousand people. It is also pertinent to mention here that poultry is the cheapest available meat protein source for our masses and as such, is an effective check upon the spiraling animal protein prices also. They also urged the government to provide a level playing field to domestic processors of poultry meat, stressing that import of Halal products from Malaysia and China was hurting the local industry.

They said local processors, who pay duties and sales tax on import, have been greatly disadvantaged by subsidized and zero-rated imports of Halal meat from Malaysia. They said that the government planners granted zero-rated access to Malaysian processed chicken without consulting the poultry sector. They said that the government must back the industry for the losses the sector has been incurring for the last many months due to low rates of chicken and owing to irrational policies of the government.

Consumption and to ensure the good health of our people since only a healthy generation can take a country to the pinnacle of progress and prosperity.

He also added that it is all too easy to take eggs for granted but they really are nature’s ultimate source of high quality protein. With an estimated one billion undernourished people across the globe – eggs have the power to help feed the world. A source of high quality protein is essential for:
– development
– Healthy brain development
– Improving concentration levels
– Supporting the body’s immune system
– Essential to support the effectiveness of vaccinations and antiretroviral drugs.

Eggs are one of nature’s highest quality sources of protein, and indeed contain many of the key ingredients for life. The proteins contained within eggs are highly important in the development of the brain and muscles, have a key role to play in disease prevention and contribute to wellbeing in later life, particularly in relation to eyesight (avoiding macular degeneration).

Peoples across the globe celebrate this day by making variety of egg dishes and recipes. This was said by ex –Chairman PPA Dr. Abdul Karim. He added that there are few people who are spreading rumors about the production of Chicken meat and eggs. And we have to remove those mis conceptions.

Mr. Chairman announced that we are holding consumer education activities this year all over the Punjab to create awareness amongst the masses. He also added that health organizations issued a warning about the cholesterol contained in eggs. But, the real truth is that eggs, just like many other foods, such as: coconut oil, eggs were mistakenly thought to be bad for your health. So, the medical experts claim that when you consume foods that contain cholesterol, your liver adjusts itself by decreasing its own production. This means that eating eggs doesn’t increase the existing amounts of cholesterol in your body; you’re simply replacing one type with another. Eating whole eggs is extremely important for all of us. The egg yolk is loaded with healthy nutrients. More than 90% of the egg’s calcium and iron are found in the egg yolk. And the egg white contains almost half of the egg’s protein. In this article we are going to show you 10 good reasons why you should consume eggs more often.
