A meeting between Mr. Abdul BasitPresident LCCI and Mr. Mohammad HosseinBaniAsadiConsul General of Iran held in Iranian Consulate General ,Lahore.

On 13th March 2017 Mr. Abdul Basit President LCCI and Mr. Mohammad HosseinBaniAsadi Iranian Consul General met to discuss the promotion of trade and strengthen the bilateral relations of Export/ Import Exchange between Iran and Pakistan. The meeting was held to discuss the matter in detail at Iranian Consulate Lahore.  The Iranian Consul General said that successful meeting had provided an opportunity to both the countries to discuss important issues. President LCCI and Iranian Consul General agreed to increase coordination to enhance two-sided ties and to boost trade. This trade could tap lucrativeincentives being offered by the Iranian government in different sectors including Energy, Poultry, Pharmaceuticals, Auto and Information Technology. Mr. Abdul Basit during the meeting said that Tehran and Islamabad would speed up trade and economic cooperation following the lifting of sanctions against Iran over its nuclear program and the removal of legal obstacles, particularly in the banking sector and currency exchange. Many issues pending between the two countries were also discussed in detail and decisions were taken with mutual agreement to resolve them.During the meeting he said that Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) warmly welcomes the long-awaited development for it is bound to go a long way in consolidating trade connections between two countries. Iranian Consul General said that this meeting amply proves the cordial relations between the two countries. Thanking the LCCI leader, Iranian Consul General stressed the business communities in the two countries would have to increase interaction to share their experiences in the larger interests of the people of two brotherly nations.  At the end president LCCI called for exchange of delegations for undertaking Joint ventures in Poultry, Marble, Pharmaceutical and Information Technology sectors.
